Psalm 23:4

Gods commands are not there to suck out the fun in our lives or control us. It is to guide us towards the best quality of life. When we achieve this, trouble and distress would seem puny compared to what God can do.

Romans 8:31

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

The good news is that God is on our side. He is mighty, powerful, extraordinary, all-knowing, and everything is His. If God is on our side, what can stand against us?

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Where Is Anxiety Mentioned In The Bible

However, the words anxiety and anxious are mentioned a total of 31 times in the Bible. It appears five times in the sixth chapter of Matthew in the span of nine verses. Letâs look at this passage and see what comfort we can gain from it when we are feeling anxious. Jesus speaking to his followers:

âTherefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, âWhat shall we eat?â or âWhat shall we drink?â or âWhat shall we wear?âFor the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Nearly 3 out of 4 Americans felt that 2020 was the most stressful year of their lives, and 57% admitted to being more stressed than theyve ever been.

To see how individuals are dealing with the nearly year-long pandemic, OnePoll surveyed 12,500 Americans about the stress levels and factors in their lives.

brought about many unexpected stresses, said Harel Shapira, whose company helped fund the research. People are feeling stressed about everything, be it their jobs, finances, politics, holidays, or the pandemic. When people are overwhelmed, stressed, and anxious, they just dont feel like themselves.

Based on time worrying per day, Missouri residents were the most stressed citizens in the country, followed by Mississippi and West Virginia. At the opposite spectrum, the Heartland states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Iowa comprised the least stressed states in the union.

While the COVID virus was among the top stressors in the recent year, money and politics were the reasons most often cited for causing stress. While 38% of respondents mentioned a lack of savings, 35% expressed concern about the current state of the country, and another 30% stressed over the November election.

There was, however, some good news out of the report, as nearly half of those surveyed said they had learned new ways to cope with their stress.

Remember How God Has Helped You Before

One of the things that can begin to change our thoughts and calm our minds is to remember the ways that God has helped us in the past. Now, some reading this may say, Im not sure that I really believe in God. Then think, How have past troubles been resolved for me? Remember those times. And since worries can be for nothing, you may also think about this: When have I worried, and what I was worrying about did not happen?

My prayer is that you would begin to see God in the blessings and help that you have experienced, but a sure way of alleviating anxiety is to remember past escapes from trouble and stress.

It is also helpful to hear others talk about their lives and how God delivered them from trouble. When you hear many testimonies of relief and provision, it encourages you to look up and start trusting that you, too, will find relief.

Using Bible Verses For Worry Stress And Anxiety To Calm Yourself

Its easy to get anxious and stressed. One of the best ways to relieve this is by repeating Bible verses because they bring relief even in moments with overwhelming anxiety levels.

You can repeat them in your head, but saying them out loud or even under your breath can help you get your breathing and heart rate back to normal as well.

God Im Going To Trust You With My Future

All the thoughts that run through our mind will overwhelm us. It is going to get to a point where God is going to ask you, are you going to trust me with your future? God told Abraham to get up and go to the land I will show you. Imagine the thoughts running through the head of Abraham.

If I were in that situation, my palms would be sweaty, my heart would be pounding, I would think, how will I eat? How will I feed my family? How am I going to get there? What is the correct route? What does it look like? What do I do next? Where will I find work? There would be a spirit of fear.

When God told Abraham to go to a different land, what He was actually telling Abraham is to trust Him with everything. A couple years ago, God led me to move to a different city that was 3 hours away. I didnt know what I was going to do next, but God said, youre going to have to trust Me. You shall not lack one thing.

We have to get to a place of complete surrender to the Lord. When a believer gets to that place of complete surrender, doors open. You have to trust God with your tomorrows. Although I might not know what will happen tomorrow, Lord I will trust You!

    8. Psalm 23:1-2 The LORD is my shepherd I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.

Satan Wants You To Live In Fear

One thing that Satan wants to do to believers is cause them to live in fear. Even if nothing in your life warrants fear, he will send forth confusion and discouraging thoughts. What Does This Mean For Christians Who Struggle With Anxiety

Believers will likely experience circumstances in life which will leave them anxious or apprehensive. Considering 40 million people in the United States of the population experiences chronic anxiety within a given year, several Christians may struggle with crippling fear.

    During such times, Christians should:

    • Comfort and encourage them. All Christians struggle, and it never helps to adopt a pharisaical attitude during a brother or sisters greatest time of need.
    • Provide for whatever needs a brother or sister has. Perhaps they have grown worried about where their next meal will come from. God promises to provide for the needs of His people, but He often does so through other believers.
    • Walk alongside them during the struggle. We will all face times in our lives where we need the love and support of other believers. Someone who deals with anxiety may need that support right now.

Do Not Fear Hes The Same God

I was reading Genesis last night and God showed me something that believers often forget. Hes the same God! Hes the same God who led Noah. Hes the same God who led Abraham. Hes the same God who led Isaac. Do you truly grasp the power of this truth? Sometimes we act like He is a different God. Im tired of many well-meaning Christians thinking that God doesnt lead how He used to lead. Lies, lies, lies! Hes the same God.

We have to cast out the spirit of unbelief. Read Hebrews 11 today! Abraham, Sarah, Enoch, Abel, Noah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, and Moses pleased God by their faith. Today, we are looking for burning bushes, miracles, and wonders. Please understand that I am not saying that God doesnt give signs and do amazing miracles, because He does. However, the righteous shall live by faith! Without faith you cant please God.

Our faith shouldnt last until bedtime and then we start worrying again. No! God Im going to take your Word for it. Here I am God. Help my unbelief! God is trying to produce a remarkable faith in you. Some of you are in a battle right now. Youre a testimony to the world. What testimony do you give when youre murmuring about everything? When all you do is complain youre bringing out negative energy that affects not only you, it affects those around, and it affects those seeking God.

    13. Exodus 14:14 The LORD will fight for you you need only to be still.
